Fastening The Loctite® Name To History. Anaerobic adhesives were first introduced by Vernon Krieble, a chemistry professor at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. Krieble founded American Sealants Corporation in his basement in 1953 after developing a unique polyethylene container that prevented the anaerobic chemistry from curing in the bottle.
